That's Elmo's Chair!

So, my crazy little nephew is turning one. This kid is a riot, and so smart. He's funny, and he already knows he's funny, just like my brother did when he was a baby, so here's this little kid who can barely talk or walk, yet, but he's trying to entertain you. Cracks me up.

Like every baby I know (I'm flooded with tiny nieces & nephews, so it's a lot) he loves Elmo. Personally, I was an Oscar girl, but to each his own, right?

When I was out shopping one day, I spotted this little Elmo sitting alone on a shelf. Just a basic little guy, but his eyes were a little wonky, and it seemed to give him more personality than all the other Elmos I'd been looking over. You know how important that is to doll peeps like us. ;) So, into the cart he went.

Elmo Loves You!

Now, obviously, first birthday, this kid is going to be getting a ton of toys. And probably a lot of Elmo related stuff. So, I figured my Elmo needed a little something special to make him stand out from the crowd. Well, go with your strengths, right? So, this week, I made him his own little chair. :)

Elmo Loves Chairs!

Elmo's not sixth scale, of course, but he's around the size of a beanie baby or similar, and if the furniture is truly 1/6, it's a fine size for stuffies that size. Elmo's chair is the same size and similar style to the bachelor armchairs I made recently, but a little different, to make sure it was officially unique. ;)

Elmo Love Sitting Down!

And, of course, this chair doesn't have any legs. Didn't want the little guy to be chewing on them when he was teething (Everything about my furniture is non toxic, but splinters in the mouth definitely wouldn't be much fun!) Also wouldn't want him to (more than likely) toss it across the room and hit the tv, or peg someone in the eye with a little wooden leg! Kid's got a crazy strong arm for a 1 year old. He's tossing a football across the room already. So, this chair is 100% soft. Like Elmo. :)

Alright, just wanted to share! Elmo and I have to be be going now!

Bye-Bye!

  1. LOL, this post was too adorable! All dolls should have comfy chairs, be they plushy or vinyl.

    1. Haha, I agree! He looks pretty happy sitting in his little chair. :) This is the first time any of my nieces or nephews have gotten anything like this from me, so should be interesting! I think Elmo will have a good time. ;)

  4. Aw, what a good auntie! Elmo has an amazing hypnotic power over these children. If you ever happen to catch the movie Elmo's Adventures in Grouchland, not only will it satisfy the Grouch in you to see your homeland, but there is a part in the beginning when Elmo has this panic attack over his blanket and it is truly hilarious.
